This is the first blog I’ve written in two months. While there are plenty of things to write about in the world of politics, I must admit, I’ve been at a loss. I, along with so many of you, worked so hard in the last election, trying to inform the public as to who this president really is. I made my case, time and time again, trying to open people’s eyes to the danger of the president’s agenda and ideology. But to no avail. Obama won re-election by 3 million votes. What else is there to say?
I feel like Hillary in the Benghazi hearing….what difference, at this point, does it make?
Well, unlike Hillary, I know it makes a big difference. Obama is destroying this country. With each appointment, executive order, or negative straw man speech, he is destroying the freedoms so many have fought and died to protect. We can sit around and feel sorry for ourselves, while the country falls apart around us, or we can continue to fight. I’ve heard Republicans say that the president won the election, so we must support him. NO, that is not true. Do you think any Democrat said “Bush won, so we need to support him?” Of course not. That would be silly. In fact, they fought harder, and that’s what we should be doing.
During Obama’s first term, he essentially got a pass for the economy, as all of the blame was put on Bush. As the national debt was climbing by trillions, Obama said he had to spend money to get the economy back on track. He fixed nothing. As Obama campaigned for a second term, he still got a pass, because “the economic crisis was even worse than first thought”, and while the recovery has been slow, he insisted we were on the right track. Now, Obama seems to have amnesia, because he says we don’t even have a spending problem. He failed to even address the economy in his 2nd inaugural speech. Meanwhile, the biggest concern on the minds of most Americans is the economy and jobs. Where is the president on this? His jobs council hasn’t met in a year. He refuses to negotiate on the debt ceiling, saying he won’t even discuss spending cuts. We’re heading into financial oblivion, and he won’t even acknowledge there is a problem.
O
bama has become more brazen in his tactics. He refuses to work with Congress, on either side of the aisle, and is more than happy to go-it-alone. He even made the comment that if Congress couldn’t come to an agreement on the debt ceiling, they could hand the power over to him, and he’d get the job done. Absolutely appalling! Yet, not a word from the mainstream media or Republicans in Congress. Does no one even care about his quest for a complete power grab?
We’ve all watched in horror as Democrats scramble for more gun control. Despite the proven facts that gun control does NOT work, they continue to draft legislation to restrict lawful gun owners while doing nothing to actually address the problem of gun violence, since murderers clearly don’t follow laws. What we ended up with is 23 new executive orders, which will do nothing to prevent another mass shooting, and additional legislation is in the works. Senator Feinstein makes NO bones about that fact that if she could, she would take every single firearm off the streets, but simply doesn’t have the votes to do it.
Obama’s goals are clear: bigger government and less individual freedom. He wants to use legislation to enhance gay rights and give amnesty to illegals, create restrictions on energy use (via Agenda 21 and the EPA) and massively expand the entitlement society. He rejects the notion that Americans have become a society of takers, while food stamp rolls have exploded under his watch. He rejects the notion that we have a spending problem, while the debt is nearing $17 TRILLION. Folks….he’s not actually that stupid. This is the plan. Once we have gone off the real fiscal cliff, he will bring in big government to “fix” everything. It’s his way of “fundamentally transforming America”. You have to destroy something before you can rebuild it.
I’ll be the first to admit it….I’ve been discouraged. I feel like my labor was in vain. But I’m back! This is no time to give up. Our love of country and our will to fight DO make a difference….the difference between liberty and tyranny.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke
Most excellent take on the feeling of a great many Americans today who have thrown in the towel and gave up. Your words here are inspirational for all of us and I am so very glad you fired up this blog once again.
Now take it to the next level and give Obama and his Thugs your famous RIGHTHOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks. I wanted to post, but I just seemed to have a block. I’ve been feeling so frustrated at those who choose to be ignorant, so I thought I’d start by expressing those thoughts, and then moving forward. It felt good to be getting back in the groove!
If they can’t pass a budget, they shouldn’t be given any more money to spend. Wonder how much his admirers will still love him when everything goes to hell? No one has held his feet to the fire. FOX seems to be getting to him. Since FOX is the only MSM that will report on some of the crap he has done.
You’re right. Republicans whine a little, but he’s basically been unobstructed. He constantly bypasses Congress, and they just roll over and play dead. He should have been impeached last term, but nothing. He’s definitely going after Fox, and conservative radio will be next.
Obama is like a little kid. The citizens gave him and inch but he will take a mile. Obama only cares for himself and no one else.
Fantastic post RH !
Good to see you back.
We never win anything by giving up.
The 2014 elections will be here before you know it.
Lock and Load !
Thanks. You’re so right, and I’m ready! Bring it on!
Good to see you back, and yes, it is discouraging. For me the antidote is to not let every little thing bother you. Fight the important battles, ignore the nonsense and build for the future. Remember this crap started under Wilson (mostly) and he was elected in 1912, it took them 100 years, we’re not going to get it back in a week.
Keep the Faith, my friend.
Good advice. Sometimes, I just have to turn off the television. I find myself yelling at it more and more, and quite frankly, can barely stomach watching Obama lie, ur, speak. You’re right that this has been in the works for some time, and we have a hard road ahead of us. I only hope more people will finally begin to open their eyes and vote these bad apples OUT.
I do as well but, sometimes, and today is looking like one of them to me, it seems as if we’re to busy sitting on the couch, drinking beer and watching Jersey Shore to fix anything.
One of your best posts, Right Hook! Teared me up; go get ‘em, Tiger! Or should I say “Mama grizzly” ?
Aww, thanks Mom! That means a lot!
I have to admit that the atrocities perpetrated by this administration leave me frustrated and weary. However, those with true understanding of what is right must stay in the fight and not give up. The Edmund Burke quote says it all. If good men do nothing, we have effectively surrendered to the enemy. I may not stop them but I can sure as heck slow them down! I am not going to get out of the race until the good Lord takes me! As Hitler was reaching his peak and killing countless Jews and overtaking nations and putting them all under Communism, one man decided that he would not sit idly by. That man was Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He went back to Germany to help take down Hitler. He made a statement that has impacted my way of thinking. He said, “Silence in the face of evil is evil itself. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act, is to act.” No one will get any awards for keeping univolved hiding on the sidelines. You either stand for what is right or you acquiesce and let evil overcome good. We are in such a time where it is more important than ever to speak out against tyranny and evil or else we will be destroyed. If you have a voice – use it while you can still make a difference.
Well said, and you are absolutely right. It’s easy to give up or become complacent. We can’t. We have to keep trying to shed light on what this entire administration is doing, and hold our elected officials accountable. If we don’t, we are just as guilty as those who support this corrupt administration.
