Yesterday, on NBC’s Today show, Laura Ingraham once again took host Matt Lauer to task, this time on the issue of taxes and the debt ceiling. She completely dominated the interview, something that is difficult to do with the liberal media, and dismantled the argument for higher taxes, explaining that the numbers just don’t add up. One of Lauer’s questions to Laura was “President Obama talks about shared sacrifice. Where is the shared sacrifice going to come from on the Republican side?”
Is Lauer aware that Republicans do not believe in the philosophy of “shared sacrifice”? That is a Marxist point of view. Republicans believe in opening up the free market and allowing people the opportunity to achieve the American dream. Why is this concept so difficult to understand?
And is it just me, or does Lauer have an attitude? He seems to become quickly irritated with conservative women, or is it women in general? I don’t watch him enough to know, but he certainly looked perturbed, when he realized she was decimating his lame attempts to defend Obama’s position.
This isn’t the first time Ingraham has given Lauer a verbal beatdown. Just over a year ago, she was on the Today show, discussing Sarah Palin and the Tea Party, as well as the health care law.
I like when he corrects her by saying “it’s not a health care bill. It’s a health care law.”, then she laughs and says “then why is he still campaigning for it?” Touché. Lauer also tried to chastise her for her comments about MSNBC’s hateful rhetoric, by saying that it comes from both sides, but she stood her ground by saying that the liberal media only reports it when it comes from the “supposed right”. Well said.
Lauer is clearly outmatched here. Why does he bother? Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter have also both outwitted him in various interviews. It only helps the conservative cause. Fine by me. Keep it up, Matt. We enjoy watching these conservative women make you look like a mental midget.
