Americans have spent the last four years watching our country being taken from us.  We have a president who thinks he is above the law.  He violates the Constitution, bypasses Congress, and ignores the American people.  He’s running up our national debt at unprecedented rates.  He picks winners and losers.  He takes from the successful, hard working Americans and gives to those who sit with their hand out.  He gives our hard earned tax dollars to countries who work against us.  He hosts leaders of radical Muslim regimes in the White House, while ignoring the leaders of our closet ally countries.  He disrespects our military.  He allowed four Americans to die in Libya, without doing anything to save them, then lied to the American public, and targeted someone who had nothing to do with the attacks.

This president has the most pro-abortion record in Congress, even voting against measures to save the life of an innocent baby born in a botched abortion.  He has worked against religious freedom of Christians while promoting the religion of Islam.  He focuses on things like free contraception for women, while ignoring the fact that we have 23 million Americans who are unemployed or underemployed.  He’s doing nothing to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy, trotting off to Las Vegas on campaign stops while people on the East Coast have no homes, no heat, no gas and no food or water.

This is a pivotal election.  We cannot afford to be complacent.  That’s how we got into this mess in the first place.  We have leaders in Congress who need to be removed.  We have a president who needs his walking papers.  We need to get back to the principles this country was founded upon.  We need to take our country back.  This is the time.  If not us, who?  If not now, when?

Get out and vote.  Your country depends on it.

Very insightful article…

Black pundits say that to be black and Republican makes one a despicable race-traitor worthy of no-holds-barred punishment.  As a black conservative Republican, I’m not frightened by this; it just angers and frustrates me.

My frustration comes from the knowledge that those claiming to have black America’s empowerment and best interest at heart are the “elephant in the room” problem.  They lie to black America.  Who are “they”?  They are Democrats committed to keeping blacks viewing themselves as victims.  They are racist, bitter black politicians with huge chips on their shoulders, seeking eternal “payback” for America’s original sin of slavery.  These black politicians are rewarded by the Democrats for delivering black votes.

So there you have it, black America: these are your so-called advocates.  And how do they help you?  They lie to you.  They tell you that 70% of black youths dropping out of high school is not your fault.  They tell you that prisons filled with black males is not their fault.  They tell you that 80% of black kids growing up without a father is not your fault.  They tell you that black genocide — half of black pregnancies ending in abortion — is not your fault.

It’s no secret that Detroit has been in decline for some time, thanks to the poor leadership of liberal Democrats since the early 60’s.  But the rate of decline has increased substantially in just the last 2-3 years, with significantly increased unemployment, failing schools, and staggering crime rates.

With a national unemployment rate at or around 9% for the past 3 years, and a staggering national unemployment rate within the black community hitting a 27 year high of 16.7% in August 2011, the economic downturn that has affected all areas, has hit Detroit especially hard.

Given how dire the situation is for those still living in the Motor City, one wonders:  is this what we have to look forward to in a second Obama term?  While the “official” unemployment rates are moving slightly downward, this number ignores those who have just stopped looking, which means the numbers are completely misleading.  The “real” unemployment rate has been estimated to be much higher, although the numbers reported vary greatly, at anywhere from 11-22%.

Gas prices have continued to stay around $3-$4/gal., and is expected to hit $5/gal. by the summer.  Food prices have increased significantly.  The housing market is still a mess.  Families are struggling to make ends meet, and we still have not seen the full ramifications of the Obama policies and programs to our economy.

Will we see our own cities fall into decline, just as  Detroit has?  So, how bad are things in Detroit, really?  An article at “The Economic Collapse Blog” reveals some staggering information about just how bleak the situation is for this once booming city.  Here are some highlights:

  • Back in the 1950s, Detroit was a teeming metropolis of approximately 2 million people.  According to the 2010 census, only 713,000 people live in Detroit today.  The U.S. Census Bureau says that Detroit lost a resident every 22 minutes during the first decade of this century.
  • Only 25 percent of all students in Detroit end up graduating from high school.  Many other major cities will soon have graduation rates similar to Detroit.
  • Today, 53.6 percent of all children that live in Detroit are living below the poverty line.
  • An analysis of census figures found that 48.5% of all men living in Detroit from age 20 to age 64 did not have a job in 2008. (That number has continued to rise...)
  • The median price of a home in Detroit is now just $6000.  Some homes in Detroit have been sold for a single dollar.

Due to the economic woes, crime has increased at a staggering rate, and many residents are fighting back.  Here are some additional statistics:

  • [In a single weekend], a total of nine shootings were reported in the city of Detroit.
  • Justifiable homicide in Detroit rose by a staggering 79 percent during 2011.
  • The rate of self-defense killings in Detroit is currently 2200% above the national average.
  • Ten years ago, there were approximately 5,000 police for the city of Detroit.  Today, there are less than 3,000.
  • 100 bus drivers in Detroit recently refused to drive their routes out of fear of being attacked on the streets.

America, this could happen in more cities across the United States.  Washington cannot continue its reckless spending.  We are on the brink.  Tough decisions need to be made, and it starts with you, the voter.  Let’s make the right decision in 2012, and replace this president with one who looks out for the interests of the American people, instead of his friends and own self-interests.  Let’s replace this president with one who puts America first, and respects and appreciates this country for what it is….A Shining City on a Hill.

Every time I think Obama couldn’t possibly express any more disdain for this great country, he kicks us in the face yet again.

At the APEC conference this past week, Obama claimed American businesses have “gotten a little lazy in the last couple of decades”. He claimed that we take it for granted that people want to come here, and that we haven’t been “selling America.”

Are you kidding me, Sir? We aren’t selling America? Who is the one constantly apologizing for this country, telling foreign nations how terrible we are?  Who is the one putting a stranglehold on businesses with an ungodly number of regulations? Who is the one trying to raise taxes, making it nearly impossible for businesses to even survive, let alone expand? Then you have the nerve to blame US???

We would love nothing more than to bring businesses back to this country, but Obama and his cronies are pushing them OUT.   We consistently hear stories of businesses that want to expand, but they won’t, due to Obama’s stifling regulations, along with worries about the effects of Obamacare.  We also hear stories every day of businesses who are drawn to other countries because of the lower corporate tax rates.  This is due to the actions of Obama and his fellow Democrats, and yet Obama wants to blame the American people.  I just don’t get it.

This isn’t the first time Obama has made such disparaging comments.  In September, he claimed Americans had become “soft” and has lost its competitive edge.

Even more infuriating is that the president and his ilk embrace the Occupy Wall Street protesters, despite hundreds of reports of violent assaults, rapes, disease, drug use, theft, and overall unruly behavior.  Then at the same time, he trashes hard-working Americans for being too lazy and unmotivated.  Am I the only one seeing the irony here?

I am so sick and tired of having a president who has the nerve to insult and disrespect the people he’s supposed to represent. What happened to uniting this country? Admittedly, I never believed in Obama’s promises of hope and change, but I also never imagined he would work this hard to divide us. The comments he’s making are so un-presidential.  It’s absolutely appalling to me.  What other president talked like this?   Does he think this is going to motivate us??  If the leader of the free world has such a negative view his own people, how can we ever expect to succeed as a nation?  It’s time to send this president a message…with a pink slip.

At a fundraiser yesterday, Obama told supporters “The odds of me being re-elected are much higher than the odds of me being elected in the first place.”

He continued to say “..we remain very confident about our ability to win a contest of ideas in 2012 — as long as we can get the message out.”

President Obama may have won on ideas in 2008, but voters in 2012 want someone with a record of results.  President Obama simply has no record to run on.  His ideas have been nothing more than tax and spend, which have produced no results, other than to drive our economy further into the abyss.  Gas prices have continued to remain at nearly $4/gal.  Food prices are up.  The housing market is down.  Unemployment has remained over 9%, after promises that upon passage of Obama’s stimulus bill, it would never go over 8%.

Obama also made this statement:  “I think, an innate sense among the American people that things aren’t fair, that the deck is stacked against them,” he said, “that no matter how hard they work, their costs keep on going up, their hours are longer, they’re struggling to make their mortgage, and somehow nobody’s paying attention.”

I found this statement disturbing.  Do Americans really think that things aren’t fair, and that the deck is stacked against them?  Americans used to believe that they could do anything they put their minds to, and that they could overcome any obstacles.  They used to believe in the American dream.  That’s what I believe.  I still believe in American exceptionalism.  Don’t you?

The sad fact is that this is the message our president and his party are sending to the American people.  Obama says he cares, but his actions speak much louder than his words.  He’s out on the golf course, or on vacation, or making campaign speeches and attending fundraisers….all while Americans are without jobs and are seriously hurting.  Then in the next breath, he blames Republicans for all of the problems the American people are experiencing.  When is this president going to take responsibility for his actions, or lack thereof?  When are his supporters going to start holding him accountable for those same actions or inactions?

Fortunately, we are starting to see this happen, as evidenced in New York this week, when the seat formerly held by Representative Weiner, and held by Democrats for the last 90 years, was won by GOP candidate, Bob Turner.  The communities taken for granted by Democrats are being lost, because Americans have had their fill of this president…one who does not show support of Israel, and one who does not support the true American ideals upon which our country was founded.

How can we trust him to lead this great country, when he doesn’t even believe it is one?
